At Medee, a consultation should never feel like a transaction. We aim for every patient to leave thinking: "Naintindihan ako. May malinaw akong plano. At alam kong may malasakit sa akin." — I was understood, I have a clear plan, and I know someone genuinely cares.
Every Medee consultation follows five moments, carried by the M.E.D.E.E. mnemonic:
The first 30 seconds matter. Introduce yourself, thank the patient, and establish human connection before any checklist. Never make the patient feel like they are the next person in a queue.
Telemedicine can't examine, so listen harder. Ask "Can you tell me more?" before forming an impression, and always ask the last-concern question: "Before we proceed, is there anything else you were hoping we could address today?"
Say what you think is happening and why, in plain words. Give the "why" behind every major recommendation, translate every medical term, and pause after important information.
Every patient leaves knowing five things: what I have (TODAY), what I should do (DO), what I should take (TAKE), what to watch for (WATCH), and what happens next (NEXT).
The final 30 seconds should feel different from the first: summarize the plan, give safety-net red flags, and never end abruptly. "Thank you for trusting Medee with your care."
Sometimes the best care Medee can provide is an honest referral to in-person care. The goal is not to keep the patient inside the app — the goal is to get the patient to the right care.
"Every consultation should feel like there is a doctor on the other side — not just a video call."
